We believe in capturing real moments that may go unnoticed, the moments before and after shots are taken. Storytelling is key to lifestyle photography, so we won’t tell you every second what to do or how to pose. We will go with the flow, talk with you, laugh with you and naturally guide you whilst capturing all those key intimate moments. We are passionate about bringing out the authentic souls of the humans we capture. So forget about awkward posing, saying cheese or constantly smiling towards the camera or aiming for the perfect shot. I promise, the imagery will show your true love and real emotion for one another, because that’s what matters most!

Whether you need a hand in figuring out shoot locations, to helping with organising your family photography session, or planning your photography wedding timeline, we got you covered! We help with planning your outfit styling and organising a rough photography timeline on your special day.
For our wedding and elopement couples, we understand some couples may have figured out their own details in advance, and on the opposite spectrum there are some couples who don’t know where to start, or need a small helping hand in finding vendors. With several years of events and design styling background under my belt, I can provide a list of vendor recommendations.
Access to client closet
For our newborn babies, we have been slowly building up a number of newborn outfits/blanket wraps/accessories that can be worn/used during your newborn lifestyle session. Our branding and style is centred around bohemian aesthetic with earthy tones, so expect rust, beige, whites, sage, sand, mustards and browns.
Our client closet will be available once we have set up a physical photography studio. For now we have a number of newborn swaddles that we will bring to every newborn lifestyle session.
The Outfit Styling Guide should serve as an inspiration and we will also give advice and feedback on your outfits selected so you feel confident and reassured before your photo session.

NEWBORN/MOTHERHOOD/FAMILY
WHAT IF WE NEVER HAD PHOTOS DONE BEFORE?
That’s quite common! Most of my families never had their photos taken before or been in front of a camera. It’s okay to feel nervous, because hey all the attention is now on you! We won’t be telling you every second what to do and how to pose, but what we will do is naturally guide you from time to time and then capture the in-between moments, because that’s when the real magic happens!
what is lifestyle photography?
Lifestyle is very different to traditional photos, where you are staged and smiling at the camera. Soul Child Photography is purely lifestyle photography, a mixture of posed and natural moments captured. Put simply, we are documenting your everyday lifestyle and natural interactions in an environment most comfortable to you. Nothing needs to be perfect, nor do your child needs to smile and be looking at the camera all the time. We aim to capture raw and emotive images which tells the authentic story of your family.
what size of clothing currently available in client closet?
We have a very small selection of newborn swaddles available.
For our maternity mums we have a small selection of outfits at this time as we build our client closet collection. We have mostly medium sizes in dresses and small - medium sized kaftans.
Newborns and babies - We have a small selection of size 0000 - size 000.
All our available outfits, accessories with their current sizing availability will be displayed on our Client Closet section of our website (viewable only for booked clients/members only).
do you photograph pets?
I love animals, all animals! If you have pets, please include them in the session and we will make the magic work. I will always have the parents nearby if posing a pet with a newborn for safety reasons.
can we choose the location?
For Family lifestyle and motherhood sessions, we recommend our favourite outdoor locations based off your initial survey form. For newborn lifestyle and family lifestyle, we also offer sessions at your home for maximum comfort.
can i purchase prints/products/albums? where is best place for printing?
Yaasss! of course. We have partnered up with some of the best fine art printing companies in Australia. All our Soul Child Families and Couples will have access to the shop store currently available in their gallery where you can shop for prints, albums and other goodies.
We highly recommend purchasing from the gallery store as the prints are of high quality in colour printing and paper wise, overall having a superior feeling to them. Non-professional printing services won’t do your photos justice!
Weddings/Elopements
HOW MANY PHOTOS DO WE RECEIVE FROM A WEDDING SESSION?
Generally your wedding session covers for my time, talent, travel costs, use of professional equipment on the day and editing time. So wedding photos are considered “free.” For a one hour session, you can expect 50 photos.
whEN DO WE RECEIVE THE PHOTOS?
There is a 3 - 4 week turn around time for all Weddings and Elopements.
can we choose the location for wedding day portraits/elopements?
The location is up to you! It needs to have a special meaning to both of you, so we are always itchin’ for the open road travel and capturing some magical moments of you two in the location your hearts desire! Elopement locations can be slightly tricky, since there are so many epic locations, but it’s more about what speaks to your heart. Since you are Eloping in an epic location, we would do the ceremony and photoshoot in the same place. If you have no idea, that’s okay too because I love to help cultivate ideas!
Wedding Day Portraits are taken after cocktail hour which can vary from 20 minutes up to 1 hour on the day depending on your wedding duration and timeline. When booking a reception venue, think about whether it serves as a beautiful backdrop for your wedding day portraits, e.g. does it have an amazing winery vineyard? or endless views of mountains and forests? a spectacular waterfall or gigantic mystical forest trees? Having your wedding day portraits at the same place is just as simples as taking a few steps outside, giving more time for your photo session and you will be more relaxed.
If you are having a First look, the portrait session will happen 1 hour before the ceremony. We can go wherever you want that is close by to your choice of ceremony venue. Things to consider when choosing off site locations is transport, how long we are staying in the location, traffic and driving in rush hour, unexpected delays/accidents, car problems. Anything can happen! Timing is paramount when planning your wedding timeline to ensure everything runs smoothly.
If you are eloping in the city, you may want a change of scenery, ie. a Public garden/park. Off site locations may require a photography/videography council permit, so it is important to plan ahead of time. We are flexible and open to finding the best spots for your wedding day portraits, so get in touch with us!
hOW FAR DO YOU TRAVEL FOR ADVENTURE ELOPEMENTS?
We travel far and wide including local Victoria and interstate including Tasmania. New Zealand is also an available option for weekend adventure photography (Minimum 2 day).
